From the Heart Breakup Cards

Here’s a card for broken hearts and best friends. If you know someone who went through a breakup, show them some love from the heart.

I designed these breakup cards as a way to offer words of comfort, wisdom, or revenge to someone who is experiencing a breakup. The card company, From the Heart, says it best: “We hate breakups, but we love you.”

 I know you saw this coming. I know you were right.

But right now…I need a shoulder to cry on and a partner in crime.

Process

This collection follows a similar color palette and similar style of illustration. I chose stereotypical depictions and ideas about breakups and offered a more lighthearted tone to an otherwise tear-filled situation. Some of the first concepts included the ice cream and the wrecked car, inspired by many rom coms.
